Today is the last day of National Diabetes Month. Diabetes is a serious disease where your body does not use or produce insulin properly. Insulin is an important hormone necessary for the absorption of blood sugar, also known as glucose. If there is too much glucose in your blood, it can lead to serious health complications.
Approximately one-third of people living with diabetes do not even know they have it. The good news is that you can take steps to prevent type 2 diabetes.
