It was a "hole-in-one" presentation for 200 plus women (and a few lucky men) at the LPGA Women's Day Luncheon at Kingsmill Resort. I was honored to emcee the event which kicks off the LPGA Kingsmill Championship in Williamsburg, Virginia.
I shared my story of struggling with diabetes and the importance of fellowship, talking with other diabetics about ways to cope and thrive with the disease. Jayne Di Vincenzo of Lions Bridge Financial urged the audience to plan for the costs associated with illness and talk with family about your wishes and the challenges ahead.
LPGA golfers Mo Martin and Katie Burnett joined me on stage for a question and answer session about how they stay balanced financially, physically and mentally to compete on the tour. Mo has a very strict routine of what she eats, when she eats and how much she practices. Katie makes sure she takes care of herself on long flights or trips by putting a pillow on her lower back and using a foam roller to stay flexible. Small things make a big difference. All of us can benefit from these tips from the pros.
